Meat vendors assure sufficient supply for Surigao fiesta

Surigao City Public Vendors Association Meat Section President Susan “Tata” G. Galinea confirmed today that supply of meat in the city are sufficient enough for the city’s fiesta celebration on September 10.

“Our meat supply here is sufficient. The public has nothing to worry about it,” Galinea said.

Galinea said meat prices are still at their normal range as of press time. “Prices of carabao meat range from P220-P240 while P270-P280 for beef meat,” Galinea added.

Galinea, however, said that she cannot give assurance whether or not there will be a price increase. “But if a shortage of meat will happen in the local market, our vendors will import meats coming from nearby cities like Butuan City, Gingoog City, Davao City and Bukidnon,” she added.

Meantime, the City Veterinarian Office along with Public Market Vendors urged the public to only buy in the registered meat vendors with complete license and documents to avoid double dead or unsafe meat. (PIA-Surigao del Norte)
